Social inequality and prejudice. These two topics are both quite similar with social inequality meaning the quality of being unequal as a disparity of opportunity and prejudice meaning an unreasonable dislike or discrimination towards a race or other class of people. Inequality and prejudice are shown in fiction books throughout history. I will be specifically looking at the inequalities are demonstrated towards the house elves in the Harry Potter series. In this essay, I argue that the way that house elves are treated with prejudice within their families that they serve is able to be correlated to how they react towards becoming free elves. Social inequalities and prejudice plague the United States and harms everyone who is involved, from those who are sneering at others, to those who are the ones being put down. This topic is important to identify and understand the consequences of making fun of those who you might think are below you in social status.
